Welcome to the webchat! It is the easiest way to goof off w/out your employer knowing that you're goofing off! If your employer has banned IRC, Java, IM clients, etc., then the webchat is the best way for you to stay in touch w/ your friends! Newer messages are at the top, older messages are at the bottom.

Reloading

The browser will only send new HTML to you if someone has typed something... Otherwise it will reload from the cache. Don't panic if it appears that the page is not updating, because it probably doesn't need an update.

Opera users should have File->Preferences->History and cache->Check documents set to "Always".
Internet Explorer users should have Tools->Internet Options->Temporary Internet Files->Settings->Check for newer versions of stored pages set to "Always".
Mozilla users should have Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Cache->Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network set to "When the page is out of date".

Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts are extremely problematic. In Mozilla, use Alt-key. In IE, use Alt-key then press enter. In Opera, use ESC-key whenever the focus isn't in the text box.

m focus on the text box.
r reloads the page.
s submits what you wrote.
u focus on the dropdown box of usernames(in the pm page).
. switch back and forth between public and private webchat.

.OMLETTE Markup Language

HTML is strongly discouraged in the webchat. It's possible to use OML to break the page's validity, which is also strongly discouraged.
